It's Beginning to Get to Me

Winter that is. Not sure, but the picture below might be a clue.

A couple of full moons have come and gone and yet, it is still winter.

On sunny days, I have ventured outside to enjoy a hike or a ski. I even grew a beard to help fight off the cold.

But back came the darkness and gloom. So, I stayed inside and played with my camera, recording images of shadows made by moonlight.

When that didn't work, Rene and I headed to Chicago to try to find some comic relief and celebrate our anniversary. 21 years of bliss. Well, for me anyway!

I tried burying myself in my work. But even that is getting close to finishing. There will be another one. But this one was fun while it lasted.

It has been a cold winter. Even the river has frozen over. And ice dams have flooded the park.

But every once and awhile, a nice warm moment comes along and gives you a chance to think about something other than cold and snow. Our newest family member Duke. Our grand-puppy if you will.

But now, I hear folks talking. Talking about races. Races like Barry-Roubaix. 32 miles of hills and gravel. And a little over a month away. So, I reluctantly head to the basement and begin the slow painful process of training. Or torture. Had to happen sooner of later.

One hour today. While watching Olympic XC ski race on NBC. That took my mind off the pain. A bit.

Hope your enjoying winter. It seems to everywhere this year!
